Hair Removal Prescription: For Temporary Results

Hair removal is something pretty much common these days, for not many like the appearance of too much of hairs on their face as well as body. Both for men and women, treatment centers around the country offer this service at very affordable prices. Besides that, this treatment can also be done by oneself at home, provided with the correct prescription given by the specialist dermatologist.

Hair removal prescription usually is the suggested treatment or solution given by the hair specialist so that you can do it yourself at home. This is basically similar to how you take supplements suggested by your dietician daily at home, for your own health protection. Some common methods of prescription would be through medicines and creams, in-house treatments, and many more.

Hair removal can be divided into two basically; permanent and temporary. And when it comes to prescriptions usually, it would be temporary. This is because those prescription methods given are usually through safe means, such as medications, which only work to reduce the hair, and retard the growth of the hair, and not to remove the completely or permanently like the costly treatments.

Creams And Medicines

Creams and medicines are a famous part of removal prescription given by hair specialists. This prescription is available for both men and women, so it basically can be used on any type of skin. It can also be given to children above 12 years old. Some of the medicines can not be applied onto sensitive areas like armpits, genitals and so on. This is actually to avoid people mistakenly using this type of hair removal prescription to remove their armpit and pubic hair.

Basically what these topical prescriptions do is to retard the growth of new hair cells. So the myth that some creams can be used to remove hair completely and permanently as we see on certain TV commercials are actually not true at all.

Other Alternative Treatments

Some other form of prescription given by hair and skin specialists would be to ask their customers to go for either laser treatments or electrolysis hair removal treatments. These prescriptions are usually given only for severe hair treatment cases and for non-sensitive areas like back and legs. The former is not so painful, but the latter is pretty much of an unpleasant hair removal prescription, because it involves inserting a needle into the follicle, and can lead to swelling, redness, pinpoint scabbing and scarring.
