Fallene Cotz SPF 58 Water Resistant UVB/UVA Sunscreen is extra gentle, and dermatologist recommended for sensitive skin. No chemical sunscreen filters. Dries clear and PABA free. Contains only Titanium and Zinc, and has UVB/UVA protection. Water resistant and fragrance free.

UVB is the cause of early skin redness experienced during initial sun exposure. UVA (320nm-400nm) is responsible for deeper skin damage, and many of the long term destructive changes that are harmful to the skin. Unfortunately there is no official rating system, to date, that measure's a products' UVA protection.

UVA radiation, unlike UVB, is consistently the same all day long, all month long and all year long. UVA rays present almost the saM.D.amaging effects to the skin in December at 9am, as they do in July at 4 p.m. UVA radiation is consistently damaging, and in fact, enters deeper into the skin than UVB. I really liked this sunscreen and used it for a while before I realized that I could find a truly healthy sunscreen that works (even if it is a little greasy). This is a great sunscreen if you are concerned about the major culprits in skin care but there are better alternatives if you are looking for the best ingredients.

I have suffered from PMLE (extreme photosensitivity) since I was a kid and none of the sunscreens (AVENO, Neutrogena) really worked for me as I would still get hives all over my face once I'm in the sun for more than 10mins. Hats don't really work either. However, once I switched over to Fallene Cotz SPF 58 two years ago (I currently live in sunny California where the UV is extremely high months on end), I haven't had a single hives-break-out session. Yes it doesn't dry completely clear but who cares? No sunscreen is perfect (and I have tried MANY brands). Just put it on after you're dressed and you're fine.

I brought this product to use while in Hawaii. The application process was so frustrating!! It took forever to absorb itself and even after it did...it left your skin looking patchy and white. I have dark skin and there was no way I could go out with a coat of white all over my skin. I tried several times without any luck.

This product caused a rash on my face and neck so it is not as advertised " for sensitive skin" and it dried the skin worse than being in the sun! I would not purchase again.

Why is it so difficult to find a good sunscreen?

However, the sunblock works if you don't mind the shine. I only use it on the beach. I use Elta MD oil-free when I am out in civilization.

This product is wonderful. It applies well and does quickly absorb into the skin unlike other products with zinc oxide. I wear this sunscreen all the time and have noticed not only the difference in my confidence about being out in the sun, but the way my skin looks and feels. I am so happy to have discovered this product! The name however, makes me laugh because it sounds like a [...] cream rather than a sunscreen.

I'm really satisfied with this sunscreen. My facial skin is really photosensitive. Every summer I would always anticipate my skin to break out in hives from being out in the sun and using other sun products that were irritating and didn't work and would wear a sun hat too!

About 4 years ago, I started breaking out in a rash after using sunscreen and going outside. I tried several formulations for sensitive skin, then finally gave up. Summer meant a couple of burns early in the season before I was tanned enough to go out without harm. Why go? Kids! I couldn't deny them trips to the pool just because I had to choose between a rash or mild burn. Not a fun choice!



I just found this via recommendation from a friend with a million food allergies. I tested it and expected the same old rash. But I didn't break out. I'm now using it all over and am protected from burns. This means a lot to me and my kids!



Yes, it's thick and greasy. It's a small price to pay.

I have been using the Anthelios XL spf60 creme on my face for several months. I have lupus and live at a high altitude, so need serious sun protection that is appropriate for sensitive skin. I was using Fallene - Total Block SPF 60 Tinted Oil-Free Cover-Up 2 Fl. oz. / 59 ml, which was a great matte foundation, but I seem to have developed an allergy to it. The Anthelios is not as greasy as some, and I find that I can wear it under makeup, as long as I let it soak in and dry a bit, then lightly dab the shine off my t-zone before applying Jane Iredale PurePressed Mineral Powder with a loose brush. I opt for Vanicream Sunscreen Sensitive Skin SPF 60 - 4 oz on other areas of exposed skin because it is cheaper (I found it at my local Walgreens pharmacy). Vanicream is way too greasy for the face, but it is also effective and leaves no white cast/smudges.

For the past couple of years, I have used the Neutrogena sunblock with helioplex, specifically the Dry Touch. While I never burned while using this product, I always had a horrible white cast to my skin and would find white smudges on everything my skin came in contact with even hours after application. I decided to try the Anthelios XL SPF 60 and so far, I really like it. It dries quickly without the white residue and is also moisturizing. I did try this on my face once, and even though it didn't irritate my sensitive skin, it was incredibly greasy. There is no way I would even attempt to apply makeup over it (although I've read the lower SPFs are more suitable for the face). I usually only rely on physical sunblocks from my mineral makeup for my face and therefore only intended on using this product on my neck down. I will definitely repurchase this sunblock in the future.

Sure, it's a little expensive, but it works. Love the 15 for moisturizing protection every day, but this is the stuff for boating, beaching, etc. It's heavier than the 15, but feels better than most other sunscreens available and gives better protection.

It's a weightless powder formula that blends right in with your own skin tone. What could be better? I feel comfortable wearing it all summer long without any clogged pores or acne due to wearing a heavier liquid foundation. I work out a lot and those other foundations MUST be removed before any physical activity or you can guarantee clogged pores. You don't even have to take off the bare minerals. I always try to wash my face at least 2X a day, but we all know those long nights out when you don't always get a chance to wash your face late night... You can be confident knowing your not going to wake up to a whole bunch of breakouts. This foundation feels like your not wearing anything at all. I love bareminerals and I'm a consumer for life!
