You don't need alot and a tube will last about 2 months. It is perfect to create a tinted moisturizer by mixing it with a small amount of foundation and it looks fresh all day.( The XL version is too thick--don't recommend).

Now 50 yrs-old, I finally found the dry skin formulation necessary--esp. in winter. I've been using La Roche-Posay Active C (previously, the normal-skin formulation), recommended by top dermatologists (I'm also an MD), for about six years. Sometimes, I'll use the Eye formulation around my eyes (I suspect the formulation is safer for accidental exposure to the cornea). I STILL get carded! (However, I am Asian and also use Retin-A!) Going by what I see in the literature, I have to believe high-quality Vitamin C cream plays a significant part in my youthful appearance.

I love the texture of Active C, it's smell is quite neutral, and leaves my skin feeling very good. I either use it alone, or under a moisturizer, and after I always use sun protection. I finished one tube in about three months, and I am using my second already. Another added 'feature' was the large yellow rings that would form around my eyes mid-way through the day. I had minimal acne all through high school but in my first year of college it really started to become noticeable. I tried different topical ointments from the dermatologist (such as differin), as well as oral antibiotics. Nothing made much of an impact and I disliked using all of them. Then I bought this because of all the positive reviews, and let me tell you, they're right! It's really gentle on my skin, smells nice, and in just the two days I've been using it I already notice a difference. I'm sure glad I got this instead of the more difficult and harsh kits that are also available online, though keep in mind my acne wasn't severe.

My top derm doc recommends this, as do many other skin experts. (I've used this for years, but I also use Retin-A. I'm a 49-yr-old Asian MD who still gets carded.) This Vit C product may sting your eyeballs (probably reflecting that it's unsafe for your cornea), so consider the separate eye formulation made especially for the eye area. Also, the NORMAL-TO-COMBINATION formulation is quite emollient; the formulation for DRY skin seems suited for VERY dry skin!
