I've used several brands of silicone gel scar pads on my healing facial scar in a curvy place that often causes other stiffer pads to peel off in less than a day. Cica Care stays on much better than the Scar Away and Mepiform pads, due to its thick gel layer (almost 1/8") and very thin plastic outside film. In addition, I get the sense that this Cica Care pad is doing a better job of flattening by pulling up the sunken middle of my scar than the others. Because the gel conforms so well to the shape of the scar, it makes clingy contact with the sunken parts better than the others, and I think that tends to pull them up over time.
I will note that with all these scar pads I suspect differences in the stickiness based on what batch of the same brand I get; I think some retailers store them too long or under bad conditions, and I'm especially concerned about internet retailers doing this. So in order to make sure I got fresh product I special ordered the Cica Care pad from my local medical supply store. I paid about twice the amazon price, but I think it was worth it because whereas others have complained about the stickiness of the Cica Care pads I find they stay on great.
Whereas other pads stick with a sort of gluey feel, the Cica Care pads stick in more of a clingy way. Other pads will stay on better if something like clothes rub against them, but don't make contact with the sunken ridges of the scar. The Cica Care pads on the other hand have a much more pliable gel, which seems to adhere by contouring and maximizing surface area contact. So if you use the Cica care pads in a location where gravity will tend to "uncling" them, or where clothing or bedding may rub against it, I would suggest making a cover out of breathable tape from the drugstore. Perhaps the people who found them not sticky enough were using them in places where gravity or rubbing caused them to get "declinged".
The cica care pads stay sticky enough to use for at least several days with regular cleaning, whereas I found myself throwing out the other brands of pads after a half or full day of use because the adhesive didn't hold up. I tend to have oily skin and the curvy place where these were applied means this is probably worst case; most people will probably get much longer use out of all these pads.
The downsides to the cica care pad are the much higher cost, and the clear cover means they don't hide scars. One other potential downside is that I don't think the Cica care pads trap as much moisture in the skin as other thicker-skinned pads, and it's the moisture that I think helps prevent keloids. It seems like the gel in these Cica care pads is more breathable. So whereas the mepiform pads may be slightly better for preventing keloids, I think the Cica Care are better at raising sunken scars.
I wear the Cica care pads when I'm at home, and Mepiform pads when I'm out and about, because the Mepiform pads are thinner, the color/texture matches my skin much better than the scar away pads, and they moisturize the skin well to prevent keloids.

Who would have thought that a sticky cover of silicon would be used for scar treatment? It's like waking up one morning and saying "why don't I use a thin layer of catchup on my freckles?" Useless and irrelevant, this product does not work at all. When you sweat it falls off, wherever you stick it. Besides, it blocks the gas exchange by covering the pores and increases the risk of yeast infection. If your skin is sensitive it gives you rash.
Lets say they are right and it works, which it doesn't. How do you think it would work even if it really did? It would have to "change" something on your skin, right? And it wouldn't be a change solely in appearance, it would have to be a chemical exchange for this product to work! Silicon is extremely harmful to human body. It causes cancer, affects the reproductive system; reduces the testosterone level in men and disrupts menstrual cycle in women. You don't need to eat a spoon full of silicon gel for this to happen; skin contact is enough. Look it up, you'll see.
So if it works, it's harmful. If it doesn't work, why would you get it?
Do not waste your money but more importantly do not risk your overall health.

I bought this terribly expensive gel strip and while I was waiting for it to come in, found that Walmart (and Amazon) had 'Dr. Blaine's Scar Care'. I bought it from Walmart and it contained a silicon gel strip that I tried out while I waited for the one I ordered to come in. It worked really great and was not real noticable (I had a thyroidectomy which made a scar that was very obvious). The scar was annoyed and red-even a month after surgery. I thought that when this other gel strip would come in the mail (which was 4 times the price), it would really be terrific. Well, it came in and after trying it for a day, I threw it in the garbage. What a waste of money for me! First of all, there is a pattern on the gel that screams out 'look at me' to all who see it. Also, it doesn't adhere as well or provide the proper hold to keep my scar from moving (which was causing a keloid to form). I would definately not recommend this product buy try the cheaper version as you will probably be much happier.

This product is just what I needed. I had plastic surgery 2 months ago, treating medium scars in breasts and a big one in lower belly. I used this Cica Care, for a month, in thin strips over the scars and they are healing perfectly now, no keloid, no widening, just a thin scar that will almost vanish with time. I highly recommend this product.

I gave 5 stars, however it's too early to convey any concrete result on this product. So far some of the major complaints have gone e.g. redish appearance and burning/itching sensation, but as far as flatten the keloid scar, this will need pacience and couple of months using regularly the silicon patch. I am confident though, that will work, because I am disciplined and will certainly wear the dressing and will follow the instructions from manufacturer. There is a small draw back: It's unclear as to how to store the used patch so it doesn't lose the adhesiveness too fast.
