To meet your needs, Sonicare and Crest have created a combo pack of toothpaste refills and an IntelliClean brush head. This combo pack contains enough Crest refills to last approximately 6 months which is exactly how long it should be before you replace your IntelliClean brush head for optimum results. The Crest IntelliClean toothpaste has been specially formulated to quickly liquify upon brushing. The high speed bristle motion of the IntelliClean System then drives its powerful cleaning ingredients deep between teeth and along the gumline. Apply an extra dose of Crest IntelliClean toothpaste for targeted removal of bacteria in hard-to-reach areas where flossing is more difficult.

"Replacement parts great kind of sorry I bought this brush." 2007-03-09
By Jeff Forman (Carlsdbad, CA United States)
I am not sure how to rate this as the refill products are fine. I am just very unhappy that I purchased this Sonicare type toothbrush. I thought at the time it was a great idea to have the toothpaste and brush together but since I have had this I find it very messy and also very difficult to find replacement brushes as well as toothpaste. It looks like Sonicare isn't making this type anymore and has returned to the way it was before without the toothpaste in the handle. Concept was great but it gets very messy in the handle.

Everything is fine. I will be very happy when the refills and replacement heads come down in price. As everything does, they will in time. Amazon had the best price, bar none, for this and the entire toothbrush system.!

 "Best there is" 2007-01-04
By Roger Kronick (Las Vegas, NV USA)
Next to flossing, this is the best way to keep your teeth and gums healthy. I was having a little problem with my gum line receding and was in danger of loosing 3 teeth. After unsuccessfully trying to get in the habit of a daily flossing regime, my Dentist suggested the Sonicare IntelliClean system. After 6 months my gum line had returned to normal and my teeth were saved. It might not be cheap, but it works and is worth every penny!

Great product. Cleans really well. A little pricey for the refills though.

 "Convenient for traveling " 2008-05-15

Cleans well. Battery will last many many uses before needing to be placed on the charger again. I would have no problems with living home for a couple weeks without my charger.

Toothpaste only comes in two kinds to my knowledge. And the toothpaste packet supply seems to drying up. It's becoming harder and harder to find. Once it's gone, you're stuck with an enormous version of the regular sonicare.

I am certain that once you use a Sonicare, you will refuse to use a regular analog toothbrush. haha

 "Not a winner." 2007-09-24
By C. Potter (Logan, UT)
This is one of those great ideas that just didn't work out. Having your toothpaste inside the toothbrush sounds like a life changing novelty but the toothpaste is really expensive and without it the inside of the head gets really gross. Most stores have discontinued selling the heads and the toothpaste for this brush.

"My kids don't like the toothpaste flavors" 2007-06-30
By Mom of two (Franklin, Tennessee)
I bought this because I was hoping my kids would brush better. I thought they would like having the toothpaste in the handle, but they don't like either of the flavors of toothpaste and the toothpaste is expensive anyway. I had another regular Sonicare that I've used for years, but it just died and I think I'm going to try Oral-B next because studies I've read says that the oscillating motion of Oral-B removes plaque better that a Sonicare. Our Intelliclean is just sitting there unused right now because I'm not willing to buy more brush heads so that I can use it because I use Tom's of Maine toothpaste--this toothbrush is not worth the extra money.

"Mold grows inside the toothpaste dispenser" 2007-05-07
By Enrique Flores (Austin, Texas)
I bought this thing a few months ago, it's fine, nothing special, and a little overpriced. The big problem with it (and the reason I no longer use it) is that mold and other disgusting stuff grows on the inside compartment that holds the toothpaste. That can be very disgusting. I decided I rather spend the money to buy a new power brush than keep using this thing.

To be fair, I should say that if you clean the inside of the brush every day, maybe you will not have a mold problem.

As a final note, I did not notice any significant improvement since I started using this thing, and my dentist did'nt either.

 "Sonicare IntelliClean is great!" 2007-01-10
By Online Shopper (Denton, TX USA)
I was leary of purchasing this toothbrush with the toothpaste installed inside, but my husband wanted a Sonicare and he didn't specify which one. It has turned out to be wonderful. His dentist recommended a Sonicare for his gums, but we were not really expecting how much whiter his teeth have become in just three weeks! I would highly recommend the IntelliClean.

 "Expensive disposable" 2008-06-26
By Anne L. Watson (Friday Harbor, WA USA)
It did a nice job on my teeth, but lasted only eleven months. For the price, that's a real gyp. I had another one, same model, before I bought this one, and it didn't last more than a couple of years at most. I'm replacing it with something else.

"Works Great But What a Mess!" 2007-02-11
By Rachel Barr (Fort Davis, TX USA)
This toothbrush does the job and does it well. I have a top-of-the-line Oral B power brush as well as this one; while both are really good brushes, the Sonicare does the better job of cleaning--and it's much gentler.

So why only three stars? Several reasons: cost of the replacement brush heads, messiness, and cost and frequency of gel packet replacement.

It's neat having the gel right there in the handle, yeah. And if you can keep all your saliva in your mouth and rinse the brush head without getting any water on the handle, you might find this the perfect power brush. Otherwise, be ready for a mess. The handle has a hinged cover that flips open to receive the gel packet. It is not a water-tight design. Water enters the handle cover when I rinse my brush and then drains onto the charging base. It looks yucky and is yucky, and I wish I'd just gone with a Sonicare with less bells and whistles.

I rarely use the gel packets any more, because they, also, are expensive and do not last nearly as long as the manufacturer claims. They're gone in no time.

 "clean teeth!" 2007-01-17
By Margaret Reynolds (Westchester, NY)
i'm a smoker and have always had problems maintaining a nice white smile. this is a super powerful electric toothbrush and leaves my teeth sparkling white. you wouldn't even know i was a smoker if i didn't say something. i gave it a 4 out of 5 because it's a little bulky and takes a little while to charge.

"This is one of the best inventions of the 21st Century" 2007-01-03
By M. Maria (New York)
I have owned a couple of these toothbrushes for me and my family. It was recommended by my dentist to reduce tarter build-up. I have nothing but good things to say about this brush and I love the integrated toothpaste. It does a fantastic job in keeping down tarter though you still have to floss. It is not the cheapest one on the market and the toothpaste replacements are expensive too but I think it is well worth the cost.

"Great concept and a great product" 2006-08-14
By LOUIS PAONE (BRONX, NEW YORK USA)
I have used the older model Sonicare toothbrush for several years and was very happy with the results. Your gums feel great and your teeth are really cleaned well. So, I decided to update and purchased the I8300. Once you get used to it (a little bulky) I don't think there is another toothbrush that can compare to it. The concept of having toothpaste guided by you on your teeth and gums with just the push of a button is great. Afer using it for just once, you think your teeth and gums were cleaned by a professional. This is one great toothbrush and I highly recommend it, especially for people who have gum problems.

There is one drawback, the toothpaste refills are only made by Crest. But, you don't have to use the refills and can just put your own brand on the toothbrush.

Overall, a great product.
