I'm using this product since 6 weeks of my pregnancy and I haven't found anything as good as this on the market. It is really heavy and greasy, but it goes deep into my skin for so many hours...until I take shower. I'm 23 weeks now and no strech marks at all. I think those women that left negative messages started to use late in preganancy or they ate too much and put on too many pounds...when you eat too much during this time, it's really hard to avoid strech marks of course! I bought 4 tubes and I'm buiyng 4 more until the end. It is not expensive for what it does, here in Brazil it cost six times more and I assure you that they sell a lot.

After extensive research and the use of other products, I've settled with this cream. As another reviewer said, stretch marks cannot be solely prevented via cream or topical medication, it is mostly due to the type of pregnancy and your genetic make-up. However, its intensity, appearance, and scar can be controlled if properly taken care of.
When I was younger I had gained a great deal of weight and with the weight came the stretch marks. I began using this cream and it has not only reduced the appearance of my old stretch marks, I have not gotten any new ones yet -- I'm currently eight months pregnant and my belly's not only humongous, it's as smooth as a baby's bottom. No marks, I can see a vein here and there, but it looks beautiful.
One of the main components that makes this cream successful is the fact that it keeps your skin moisturized (you have to understand your product). As someone said on a different review, the cream doesn't seem completely absorbed and that's because it's actually doing what it is supposed to be doing. Otherwise, you will have to keep applying lotion all day long - with this Mustela, I only apply it once each morning after every shower.
Moreover, again, as someone else mentioned, the cream definitely soothes the itching you get all over your body. The itching is mostly due to your skin stretching and pulling, including "dryness" which you really don't want. This mustela has really helped with the itching of my back in places I cannot reach that used to drive me insane. During my first trimester, I would itch so much I'd make myself bumps that would bleed (I would scratch while sleeping and not know it). I haven't scratched at all since I began using this cream, but did scratch a couple of times when I forgot to put on the cream in the morning.
The only complaint I had with this is that during my first trimester the smell of it didn't sit well with me. I'd have to hold my breath and breathe through my mouth because I couldn't stand it. While some women like the smell, there are some of us that were sensitive to the smell and couldn't help but throw up each time we applied the cream. I wish they made an odorless version of it.

This product is a must have for pregnant women! You may have seen mixed reviews about it, but you should not pass it up. If you start using this product from the beginning it will condition your skin so you will not get stretch marks. I'm on baby number 2 and have ZERO stretch marks from my first child. You cannot use this product late in your pregnancy and expect it to work. You should try and use it by month 3 for it to be effective and use it all over your belly, sides, breasts and under your underarms (next to your breasts). I HIGHLY recommend this product as well as all Mustela products. The baby products are even more amazing. They are a bit expensive but at least they work, and you do get your money's worth.

I was referred to this product by a friend who got through her pregnancy without a single stretch mark. I used it and I didn't get any stretch marks either. I really liked it and I know that its more expensive than some other creams on the market but I had such great results (as did my friend) that I am definitely going back to it during my second pregnancy.

I began using this product every day on my belly as soon as I found out I was pregnant - and continued using it afterwards through the weight loss process. I don't have a single stretch mark on my stomach. The skin on my stomach is also tight and smooth. As for my hips and breasts (where I didn't apply this lotion) it is an entirely different story - gross, yuck, devastating! I am extremely thankful I used this cream, because if my stomach also looked like those areas, I would be even more upset. The damage pregnancy does to a woman's body can be extensive, permanent, and very ugly. What is thirty something dollars if it prevents a lifetime of scars? If this cream didn't work for some women, then I think they must have gained an awful lot of weight (twins +, maybe?), began applying the cream too late in their pregnancy, or didn't apply it every day. I found that once you see one stretch mark, it's too late - more will soon follow. Start applying this cream as soon as you find out you are pregnant!! I don't think you will regret it.
